UKAEA awarded Gow’s the contract to design, manufacture and install an active ventilation system in UKAEA’s new Materials Research Facility extension building on the Culham site to house new glovebox and fume cupboard upgrades.
The Design involved manufacture of several hundred meters of DW144 and 316L Stainless-Steel ducting to ES1723 Specification, as well as a 15 Meter high 316L ventilation stack measuring 900mm Diameter manufactured from 20mm THK 316L Plate.
Gow’s managed all aspects of this project including Design, Manufacture, Electrical & Instrumentation. Gow’s designed manufactured and installed a solution that met UKAEA’s requirements and specifications.
Scope of Project
- Completion of Scheme Design & Detailed Design
- Supply and Manufacture of DW144 and ES1723 high integrity stainless steel ductwork for active research rooms, workshops, main hall, and associated areas
- NDT (Visual, DPI, Radiography Inspection
- DOP Injection, Sampling Points
- Installation of Ventilation System including fans, filter banks, dampers, grilles, louvres, pressure relief vents
- Installation of electrical & instrumentation systems associated with the ventilation system
- On site pressure testing and site acceptance testing
