DSRL awarded Gow’s the contract to manufacture, assemble, offsite test and deliver the Heel Pool pump and its associated components. DSRL had the requirement to remove, as far as reasonably practical, residual alkali metals from the Prototype Fast Reactor (PFR)’s vessel to prepare it for dismantling. Bulk deposits are located in the base of the vessel, named the heel pool.

Gow’s manufactured and installed a solution that met DSRL’S requirements and specifications allowing them to meet a key milestone regarding decommissioning activities onsite.
